SES’s activities in the Caspian and Black Sea region are run from its headquarters in Tbilisi, Republic of Georgia, and supported by an office in the neighbouring Republic of Azerbaijan. Our Experience
Oil Spill Response
SES has established and now operates a series of Tier 2 oil spill response centres in the Republics of Azerbaijan and Georgia. Working in remote locations and a harsh environment, SES has been instrumental in the establishment of a highly credible response capability in the region. SES activities have included assistance in the design and positioning of oil spill bases, recruitment and training of a local work force numbering some 40 personnel, procurement of a diverse range of equipment and the management and maintenance of response bases and equipment.
SES provides a full suite of oil spill response services for oil exploration, production and transportation activities in the Caspian Sea and Black Sea areas. Tier 1 packages and trained operators are available for deployment in the field, and the extensive equipment resources of our clients and SES affiliates can be made available to provide additional Tier 2 and Tier 3 support.
Waste Management
SES provides waste transportation support services in the Republic of Georgia. Collecting a range of domestic and hazardous wastes from remote locations, SES will transport materials in specifically designed vehicles to designated storage, disposal and treatment facilities.
Site Remediation
SES provides site and groundwater remediation expertise in the event of oil spills or other contaminant releases in Azerbaijan and Georgia.
Consultancy
SES has undertaken a number of environmental and emergency response consultancy projects since its establishment. These projects include a review of local fire fighting capability, an assessment of oil spill response containment sites and spill operations, and an engineering review of pipeline emergency repair capability and contingency operations.
Training
SES has distinguished itself as a quality provider of environmental and emergency response training programmes to the oil and gas industry in the region. Training courses undertaken have included HAZWOPER, Incident Management Team (IMT), Incident Command System (ICS), a variety of Oil Spill Response courses, and Small Boat Handling Operations.
Environmental Products
In 2004/2005 SES managed the selection, procurement, transportation and commissioning of a large quantity of oil spill and associated support equipment for use by one of its clients in Azerbaijan and Georgia.
