Part of the world’s largest commercial oil spill clean-up organisation, SES Asia caters to all levels of oil spill response requirements and combines extensive equipment resources with proven experience in the field. Our clients include oil & gas companies, refiners, terminals, power utilities and pipeline operators throughout the Asia region.
SES Asia provides country-based Tier 1 and Tier 2 level response services, including equipment rental, equipment maintenance, skilled operators, response system management and more. Present and past activities include operations in Thailand, Indonesia, India and the Sakhalin Islands.
In Thailand, SES Asia is the main supplier of oil spill services to the offshore oil & gas industry and operates a response base on the country’s eastern seaboard. SES provides clients in Thailand with trained responders, Tier 1-2 equipment packages in the offshore fields, oil spill trajectory modeling, training and response exercise management. With the vast oil spill equipment resources of the SEACOR group located in the US and the Middle East, SES Asia is also able to support clients’ needs for Tier 3 level response.
SES has been a major provider of response services for hazardous material incidents for the last 20 years, during which time it has responded to over 5,000 spills from sources such as leaking sea freight containers and over-turned chemical tankers.
SES has established Thailand’s first commercial hazardous material response service. With specialised equipment, trained responders, a regular exercise schedule, and a 24-hr response structure, SES’s services provide clients in Thailand with a cost-effective solution to the risk of handling and transporting hazardous materials. SES has the expertise and resources to respond effectively to all levels of hazardous material incidents from Level D to Level A.
SES has undertaken a number of environmental and emergency response consulting projects in the SE Asia region. These have included a feasibility study into the establishment of MARPOL port reception facilities in Thailand and Malaysia, the development of an emergency contingency plan for the transportation of oil by rail in Thailand, and the establishment of an oil spill emergency plan for the Pollution Control Department of the Royal Thai Government.
SES is a leading provider of emergency response training services in the region, having completed numerous courses on oil spill and hazardous material response for major oil and gas companies, government organisations, chemical manufacturers and transportation companies.
